Mission

 The Lake Merced Youth Fishing Program seeks to provide the boys and girls of the bay area with an opportunity to experience the joy of fishing.

Through an introduction to the sport, the program will instill a sense of appreciation for the wonders of nature and help develop an ongoing feeling for the future stewardship of Lake Merced.

• Offer something for all ages
• Combine special events with summer and after school opportunities
• Include education and stewardship
• Teach good sportsmanship
• Create youth leaders and role models
• Keep our at-risk youth out of trouble
