On April 12, 2011 a coordinator from the Presidio YMCA emailed the Lake Merced Fishing Program. She asked for assistance with teaching a dozen kids from around the City to fish.

 I contacted the volunteers from past events and 5 friends answered the call.

The bites were few, but the kids were smiling all the way up to the end. As one kid said, "Even if we're not catching a fish, this is fun!"
